Adam started playing the cornet at the age of seven in his local Primary
School and joined Newtownards Silver band at the age of 11. By the age
of twelve he was on the front row and came second in the Junior
Section of his local Solo Competition. At age 14 he moved onto Flugel
Horn and has played a number of solos with the band. His first was
‘I Don’t Know How to Love Him’ and his most recent was ‘Concerto de
Aranjuez’ at the Queens Hall concert (this can be downloaded from the
Audio section of the website). In the summer of 2006 Adam was a member
of the five piece ensemble that won the street musicians competition
during the Armagh summer school. Adam also plays guitar.
